I'm so pleased to read this book. Ray Bradbury shows us a new point of view of the society, bringing wisely a story about its ignorance and intellect.

I truly adore Bradbury. It's taken me a while to get round to this classic even though I was quickly sucked into his delightful world's via his short story collections.
As a librarian and book lover I can't begin to describe how uncomfortable and upset I was at reading the description of books being razed into ashes! It made me angry, scared and sad which let me know just how important this book and it's messages are.
It's a philosophical and metaphorical diatribe of wonder set in a dystopian future where the government looks out and sees despondent, unhappy people and decides that books are to blame. The arts are to blame. They allow people to think and when people think they grow concerned about their place in the world which leads to misery. So they slowly censor them. Worse still the public embraces this move. It allows them to desensitise themselves to the reality of the world and suddenly death, love and life have no meaning.
This is a tale about one man rejecting this false happiness and fighting back. It's a truly wonderful read and a must for anyone and everyone.
