What I Did Like:
+Right away you’re dropped into a situation where strange things are happening. You realize it’s strange and it really sets the tone well for the book.
+Maggie is a great character. Good voice, good background, and a heavy dose of intelligence to back her up.
+The story moves fast. You don’t have any time to lose interest or get bored, too much is happening for that. There’s a lot of events and action packed into this one.

Who Should Read This One:
-Fans of other dystopian style yet modern Scifi.
-Readers who like fast moving books and want to try a sort of modern dystopian, this one is well done.

My Rating: 4 Stars

This book has a good story line but it's written like it's for YA if it wasn't for the language I would say it's a YA book... But I really did like the story line.

This book was meh at best. Not the best but not the worst book I've ever read. There were several errors that should have been easily caught in the editing process, and the characters seriously lacked continuity. One page, they'd be stitching up wounds and fighting bad guys. The next page, they'd be talking about a high school dance and their first kiss while their world was crumbling around them. It was hard to tell what maturity level they would be at any given moment. The "AI wants to be human" trope is way overused and doesn't make any sense to me. Why would an all-powerful supercomputer want to inhabit a lesser life form? The ending was WAY too abrupt. There were too many unanswered questions. I expected at least a few more pages if not a few more chapters to tie things together. It made me really angry when I finished the book.

Side note: while I realize the animal cruelty was part of the plot and the world in the book, it still wasn't fun to read. Especially since the gore was sometimes way too detailed.

The book starts out with a great set of characters. The way you see 2 points of view one from Jordan and 1 from Maggie is pretty nice.

Midway through the book they are still introducing mysteries to be solved that play out till the very last pages of the book. I can’t recommend this enough to people.
