As an American woman living in Papua New Guinea, I found this book hard to read at times. She does a wonderful job of showing the kindness of most PNG people while not hiding the truth that she was almost constantly a target. She put herself, and others, in dangerous situations....because she could. And that frustrated me as our actions effect more than just ourselves. Really this book is more about her inner journey and searching for something.
