This was another one I felt very meh about. It touches on how sexism pervades women's everyday lives, to the extent that many women are hardly aware of it because dealing with it becomes a part of their mundane routine. It also touches on generational differences, when it comes to how sexist behavior is perceived and treated. However, I didn't find any particular depth to how it tackled these issues, nor did I find it all that compelling. The central plot of the rape is hard to read and did make me cringe, but it also felt like it lacked depth. I think maybe all of this would have been better served in a full-length novel, but then my problem with short stories often is that I'd prefer to see the topics they deal with covered at more length.

The most guy-wrenching but IMO best of the series.

Mediocre at best. Hard to follow or really care what was going on.

This was a disturbing read that highlighted majority opinions about race, gender, politics. I didn't like it but it made me think.

Engaging and well written, with characters that feel real enough to dislike and distrust.  It’s interesting to see through 3 perspectives, although the narrative flows mainly from the juror.  I am left wondering WHY.  We didn’t get much from the antagonist beyond his youth - the incident happened 25-30yrs later, just as some drunken lark?  A bet? A prank?  I need it to resolve, to make sense, but I guess that’s part of what makes a short story effective

I liked this well enough but it was a tough one to listen to; this one felt shorter compared to the others in this series as well. Well written and love getting to hear Margo Martindale!

Absolutely hated this. The story was completely incoherent and the ending was terrible.
