Has some really cool bits in it but suffered from the same problem as Bone Clocks, even more so. Just lacked cohesion and a lot of info dumping

A disturbing and uncomfortable read with a spine-tingly satisfying end.

Slade House - a place you will be enticed too, tricked into consuming something that will trap you before being lured up to the attic where unspeakable horror awaits.

The story is told over 36 years but really it spans over 100. For horror fans.

I didn’t realise this was a companion novella until right at the end where I was madly confused as to what it all meant. Up until then though I was enjoying the sprawling tale of victims and paranormal time warp.

The annoyance you feel as each new character falls for different flavours of the same tricks each section. A great array of different characters and up until the end where all the crossover came to head I was enjoying the world building. I knew I planned to read more by David Mitchell and now I guess Bone Clocks is first on my list.

I did enjoy the twist on the very last page though and hope it’ll be followed up in other stories.

I really should've read The Bone Clocks before this one, but other than that, we love a creepy house that has a thirst for blood
but what the h-e-double hockey stick was that last page? DAVID, EXPLAIN!!
