What a great story, and backed up by FABULOUS artwork. If you haven't read this deluxe edition with coloring re-done by the original artist, I really think you might be missing out on one of the coolest things about this book, not to mention you get a bonus extra story at the end by Bolland (The Innocent Guy) which is pretty cool.
This was great... fantastic follow to just finishing [b:Watchmen|472331|Watchmen|Alan Moore|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1175041710s/472331.jpg|4358649], and I'm really growing to love Alan Moore's twisted inner world and how great he is at turning even an existing concept into something even better. Great book, and what an ending!

Really glad I finally read the graphic novel! I love the movie, so I'd been looking forward to reading the novel! I just missed some of the background info we got at the beginning of the film. But overall, good story and I'd recommend it to any Batman/Joker fan.

How is this so good? Does not overstay its welcome. Manages to be an origin story AND an ending story. It's sad, scary and lays out a story without judgement. It finishes with the best collection of panels I've ever read.

Wasn’t terribly impressed by this, to be honest. The Joker’s backstory seemed flimsy and clichéd, and there’s frankly just not that much else to this (aside from the horrible stuff that happens to Barbara—let’s not even get into that). I liked the art, and I liked the ending. But otherwise—meh.

One bad day can ruin a man. It was a grusome read, grim and dark, grimmer than even I expected it to be. Moore didn't pull any punches and Brian Bolland's illustrations really fit the horror of this book. I'm glad to have read it, but it's not one I'd pull out again for a "fun read".
