I absolutely love Joe Kenda and as soon as I heard about this book I pre-ordered it. I even was able to order a signed copy. He is just as funny in his writing as he is during his shows. Anyone that enjoys Homicide Hunter needs to read both of his books.

I used to love Joe Kenda and thought he was one of the "good ones" but reading this book in 2021 was a painful reminder that policing in the United States is a callous, lawless, violent part of our culture that should be reformed and not glorified.

While I really enjoyed the way the crime stories were retold, and even the side bars to other cases, Joe Kenda comes off as quite a dick with racist undertones.
