Tender, funny, hopeful - a real testimony about the human struggle to change and be better

I think everyone I know should read this book. Reading this feels like a conversation with a very good therapist. I was gripped from the very first page, and finished it feeling like I had done some therapy myself. It inspired gratitude for the smallest things in life, and a desire to be open to whatever happens next. 10/10.

I laughed, I cried, I found this book to be hopeful and informative. I also found myself wishing it were easy to find a therapist as great as Lori or those mentioned in this book! I did feel some chapters were a bit unecessary or long-winded and that the book could have been dialed down. I do see how some of the chapters that I did not come away with anything from may have been useful to others reading it. In that way, Lori includes a little bit of insight for everyone and from her own perspective is continuing the throughlines of the book and her story. For me, this was a book outside of my comfort zone and my usual reads, but it was well worth it.

Loved this book. Felt personal and honest and I learned so much about the profession!
