I love the unique story that Crystal Collier created with Passionate and Soulless. Passionates are ghastly as children to protect them from humanity. Then on their 16th birthday they become stunning creatures and are given amazing powers. The Soulless were once Passionate but were turned into zombie-like beings that are always hungry and come out in force during moonless nights.

I adored the first book in this series, Moonless. Right from the beginning of book one, you’re promised a dark mystery. There’s also heart-pounding romance that had me swooning. I devoured this book and wanted more immediately.

With Soulless, Alexia and Kiren want to get married but their wedding day doesn’t happen when and how they want it to when the Soulless become wedding crashers. Throughout this book Alexia learns how to use her power to control time, and it was nice seeing her wield it and become more powerful. The times when she went back in time were very well written and intriguing.

There’s a ton of suspense in this story, so much, in fact, that I had a hard time from stopping my jaw from unhinging. The ending promises a great third book, Timeless. I sure hope it has a happy ending, though. Crystal, hint, hint. ;)
