There is something in men that everyone wants getting with a character that wants too but don’t convey to the society rules and reduces them that gives me life. And this book gave it to me

This was an awkward take on an interesting idea.

I love a different locale for a historical romance, but this just didn’t hit the spot somehow. The plot was a little disjointed? I don’t know how to word it, except it was very hard for me to get into.
Will and Eugenie are alright separately, but together they felt awkward and stiff. The writing and descriptions were beautiful, which is why I did end up giving it 2 stars. I will continue to read Ella Quin, I think it was just these characters that did not shine for me.

Star Rating: 2/5
Tropes: Class difference, enemies to lovers
CW: Violence, classism, racism

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Meh. This was awkward and weird. I never connected with the characters and certainly didn't care what happened to any of them. The dialogue was awful - it's a wonder that any of them managed to get their point across at all.

It's a case of let's use ALL THE TROPES. Sadly, none of them work here.

I just started reading these books in 2020. I just happened upon the author’s website and I am so glad I did. I love this series. Each book is so unique. The characters jump off the page, it is like they are family! The plot is fun and well thought out. The love story is romantic and passionate. There is intrigue. A great read and a great series!

I read it in one sitting. I liked the unusual setting and the characters were engaging.
