i was a bit worried that they just skipped the whole rebirth issue but they didn't and this flash and Batman investigating angle was pretty good to see but the book felt a bit rushed and nothing significant really happened so 3 stars

The Flash has never been my favorite character. I mean, a guy who runs fast? Who cares.
Of course, a huge part of that is also just not seeing many great Flash stories. I thought I didn't like Flash so I never read Flash, and that just sort of coalesced into further not liking Flash (yep, it's stupid, I know).
That said, I have been getting into him recently. I really enjoy the CW show, and I recently watched the Justice League animated series, wherein Flash is definitely a standout character and I loved him. And after reading DC Universe Rebirth #1, I -needed- more Flash. So since then I've wanted to try to get into Flash, and this was my perfect chance.
And I loved it. Everything technically about this book is amazing. The writing is spot-on, and the art is just so amazing. Not to mention the colors. Plascencia is my favorite colorist after his run on Batman with Snyder and Capullo, and he does such a great job, perfectly suited for The Flash with all of the great colors and lightning. It made me incredibly excited for this series and, after not liking the character for a long time, that's great.
Definitely one of the best, which is amazing considering how amazing most of the Rebirth titles have been.

WALLY WEST IS BACK! I like the beginning of The Flash: Rebirth, maybe this time Barry will be with Iris and not with Patty.
