Kit just cracks me up. I love him. But I hate agent Soze. I like that this story starts up with Soze still somehow in charge and still being the biggest douche ever. Of course that leads to our sweet angels, Kit and Lienna, having a hit put out on them and then their lives are in danger. These two, Blythe, the mole and Eggsy are going to find out who is trying to ruin so many lives. And eventually Darius will be helping. I absolutely cannot wait for that. We also get to *finally* see some realization from Kit that Lienna is showing him she cares. Come on Kit, get it together.

I love the world so much but this felt like the prequel to the book I'd rather be reading.

This book was sensational! It kept me on my toes the entire time, answered a few questions that have been lurking in the back of my mind, and set up the next installment perfectly. I always forget how much I love Kit. And he was pure Kit—snarky, kind, and a never ending fountain of movie trivia.

You really need to be caught up on the series, including the novella “More than a Little Warped”. When you are ready, dive in … you are in for a wild ride.

There is yet to be a book of Annette's that I haven't enjoyed and this is no different.

I listened to this book via audiobook and it is the same narrator that has done the rest of this series to date. He does a great job and manages the dialogue in such a way it is easy to tell who is speaking during the conversation. My only one criticism of his narration is that he pronounces Zylas wrong, if you have read or listened to the Demonized series you will notice this.

This series story arc has been a great one and definitely has me invested to find out what happens next. The romance as with Annette's other books in this universe is a slow burn, will they won't they. There is plenty of action, magical battles and crime fighting. This is one of the best Urban Fantasy series/universes I have read and highly recommend, however if you are looking at reading them I would suggest doing so in chronological order otherwise there is spoilers for the other series.
