Another fantastic Agatha Christie novel. This one is touted as one of her best and I can see it - although I still haven't read that many yet.  Red herrings aplenty, little clues tucked away here and there, a massive band of suspects, and of course (a retired) Hercule Poirot to the rescue. I will admit to not seeing the end before it came, I had my own suspicions throughout but it wasn't until the last chapters that I put things together.

I love Christie's mysteries because the murder rarely happens right away. We get to know the characters a little bit first. We see the victim alive for a few chapters and the story is built at a stately but efficient pace. Hercule is fantastic, I love how cocky he is and everyone else just thinks he is weird. The writing makes me hear his accent and see his gestures in my mind's eye. Christie obviously puts effort into her plotting and placing tidbits exactly where they are needed.

Another fantastic read by Christie. I look forward to more.

Agatha Christie's title as the "Queen of Mystery" is absolutely merited! This mystery novel's twists and turns left me in the dark as to the identity of the killer right until the very end!

Unlike some modern mysteries/thrillers that are best described as fast-paced and heart-racing, I would definite Christie's novels as a steady intrigues, which I find equally as satisifying. The intrigue builds, the puzzle pieces are revealed one-by-one, and, at last, the entire narrative is revealed in a satisfying and surprising end.

Christie is also able to craft mysteries without any plot holes, which is a challenge not many novels seem able to overcome nowadays and shows her incredible abilities!

Wonderful, delightful read.

Brilliant. Very cleverly written, and it’s easy to see why this is viewed as one of Christie’s greatest works. Knowing the ending (and it’s almost impossible not to given how famous this work is), in no way affected my enjoyment. Certainty one of my favourite Christie novels so far.

Good adaptation of the original novel with great artwork. My favourite of the graphic novel series (those I've read) by a long shot.
