This was an intense issue, to put it mildly. They did a great job of grabbing hold of all the tension known to the original Batman series (and this one particular antagonist) and pulling it right into Terry’s timeline. I hate to say it, but while Terry is good (really good) I honestly don’t think he’s a match for this antagonist. It’s not that he isn’t physically capable…more than he hasn’t been hardened down the same way Bruce is. If that makes sense.
I’m not sure how I feel about the conclusion of this issue. It doesn’t actually feel like things are over. Instead, it feels like the other shoe is just waiting to drop. Because honestly? It was way too easy. And with this guy, things never go that well. So yes, I absolutely am expecting a twist.
If I wasn’t expecting a twist though, I don’t think I’d be so content with this conclusion. It came up too quickly, and as I said earlier, it was too easy. I guess I’ll have to wait and see where things go...
