Threads of Life is a history of sewing and embroidery, told through the stories of the men and women, over centuries and across continents, who have used the language of thread to make their voices heard.

A non-fiction book exploring the social, emotional and political significance of sewing might not seem like the most exciting book to some. But Clare Hunter has crafted an evocative and moving book about the need we all have to tell our story.

Feeling a bit heavy and disconnected at the moment. Will look for other books about sewing.

Rich in description and information - there is SO MUCH in this book I feel like I barely took any of it in but it is very well written and interesting

Very interesting, read very fluently

Made me want to embroider every piece of clothing I own, but bc I can’t embroider neither do I have the recourses, I didn’t bother..

If u r a bit creative (doesn’t matter in what aspect) and interested in some history I would recommend :)
