A combination of fairy tales and dissection of the morals/lessons to be learnt. I bought this book as part of a package on kickstarter and while I love the illustrations which are morbid and beautiful, I did have trouble discerning the target audience. Some of the language in the dissections are not what one would think is appropriate for very young readers, and yet the dissections themselves were what I would consider quite obvious to anyone old enough to understand the themes in these fairy tales. I think I would have prefered more of the fairy tales and less of the disections in the end but still a beautifully illustrated book with the original (non-Disney) versions of the fairy tales included.
