The voice is off the charts. The characters are all interesting. It is a page-turner, and well worth the couple of hours it will take to read. The Coen brothers adaptation is nearly beat for beat exactly like the book, barely able to call it an adaptation, and certainly wouldn't credit those screenwriters with doing anything substantial to put it on screen.
