A grotesquely descriptive novel of a group of people working in a cinema. It was eerie, dark, and strange. A bit of a fever dream. Finishing it felt like waking up from a very weird dream.

Unfortunately for a non-film buff I don't think I could appreciate it as much as others would.

a bit meh... i had higher expectations. still good though — had a certain detached, grotesque quality reminiscent of ottessa moshfegh (eileen) or pola oloixarac (mona)

If you like weird this book definitely fits the bill. I love the descriptions, how even the most normal and everyday things are grotesque. I felt like the characters were part of a cult, forced into the real world and unsure how to live there, though most of them found a place for themselves in the end.
