This is an interesting story that pulls the reader in. One, it doesn't directly involve any of the original cast of characters and family and yet still has that connection to the original storyline.

Mortimer has been alive for 800 years and in that time has come to imagine his ideal life mate as a type of Jessica Rabbit individual... not this flat, clumsy lawyer that he find he can't read. He's supposed to be hunting down a possible rogue, not finding a less than ideal life mate. But as he gets to know this anti-Jessica Rabbit he finds her to be much more interesting than any cartoon character.

Sam was convinced to take time from her workaholic lifestyle to spend time out in cottage country with her two sisters. After leaving the only man she's ever loved and been with she isn't looking for love...at least that's what she keeps telling herself every time Mortimer looks at her.

Throw in some crazy outdoor excitement (and not the good kind) and it makes for an interesting and fun read.

Nothing excited ever happened... I kept reading thinking the story would pick up. I was looking for a new series to get into. After reading Rogue Hunter, my search will continue.

It's a cute story, but felt unfinished - even though the pair is made there could have been more to the book. I also hated how disparaging the comments were about a lifemate who didn't fit an ideal type. I don't care that the sentiment is grown out of, it was rude and insulting.

This was a decent read; very enjoyable and funny, however this series has lost its sparkle for me just a little but I guess there have been a few of these now. Still worth the read but not as amazing as past books have been
