dc sure loves their "possessed by an alien/computer/overlord" storylines. it was ok i guess. just didn't really get much of a resolution, especially considering the series was canceled after 8 issues

It's...okay. It's certainly energetic and loopy, but there's something missing from the proceedings that make it lack an emotional connection. Definitely not the best ever.

Fun mish-mash of ideas from Jack Kirby. Big, loud and not at all subtle. It doesn't take itself too seriously, which, given the current state of superhero comics, is a definite plus.

This was weird and not particulalry good. I'm tossing it a 3 star review becuase it's offbeat tone really worked sometimes and I could see what they were going for. Props for being different, but try harder next time.

A big, fun punchy book. Giffen did a great job channeling his inner Kirby on the art and DiDio's writing was actually pretty competent. It's a shame this book didn't last longer than 8 issues.

Very mixed effort - bold and action-packed, this book is the comic-equivalent of a Michael Bay/Jerry Bruckheimer movie: it's fun and a lot of eye-candy, but ultimately it leaves you feeling dissatisfied. A pity, as I had high hopes for this (the character is, I believe, joining Justice League International in the near future, if he hasn't already).

The decision to set this in the DC universe proper is a poor one and robs it of all the insane energy that the Kirby original had. Giffens art is an interesting hybrid of Kirbys style and the modern DC house style, but this never rises above being a weird curiosity of the New 52.

DCs attempt at a Hulk like character. This obvious unoriginality mixed with a bad storyline made this book stink. The 50s style art didn't help it any. Wtf was with the mohawk???
