First, I want to thank ValentinePR and Adriana Locke for gifting me an ARC of this book! ❤️

Flame is a fast-paced, surprisingly sweet and slightly tension filled romance between Bianca, a powerful CEO heiress, and Foxx, her brooding ex-bodyguard. This story stars off HILARIOUS with Foxx’s younger brother tricking him into a bachelor auction. When Bianca shows up, Foxx can’t hide his surprise, considering he up and quit her security detail six months prior. Drama-filled details have Bianca bunking with Foxx for her own safety and let’s say these two pick up right where they left off, from what history implies. It’s so quick these characters care SO deeply for each other and I was just screaming at them through the screen of my Kindle

“Flame” is the fifth book in Adriana Locke’s Carmichael Family series, and it was such a fantastic read! I’ve been dying to get inside Foxx Carmichael’s head, and this book did not disappoint! This book included so many of my favorite tropes, and I loved that Foxx and Bianca had a very intense, fiery kind of chemistry.

Foxx has always been stoic, and he’s incredibly private about what his job entails and about his life in general. I knew it would take a truly special person to break past his defenses, and Bianca was definitely that person for him. Foxx was incredibly protective, utterly possessive, and extremely loving when it came to Bianca, and I loved that for him.

Bianca was sweet and sassy, and I enjoyed her snarky personality and quick wit. She was also kindhearted and down to earth, and I loved how close she was with her family. I really felt like she was the perfect woman for Foxx because she saw him for the person he was behind all his masks - and she loved him for it. I highly recommend this book to any marriage of convenience fan!

Swoony, spicy, suspenseful, and witty!!

Flame is the 5th book in the Carmichael Family Series by Adriana Locke, featuring a riveting marriage of convenience romantic suspense story for Foxx Carmichael and Bianca Brewer that you don’t want to miss! She never wanted to get married, but now her entire life is imploding around her. Her father is a criminal, her businesses are now a mess, and to top it off, she’s being threatened. The only person who can keep her safe and save her business is her former bodyguard… Foxx Carmichael. Too bad he must marry her to do it. When their true feelings and attraction come to the surface, will they build something real or burn it all down quickly?

Oh my goodness! Every glimpse of Foxx in the other books just added to my fascination with him! The wait was worth it! Foxx and Bianca were everything— the steamy chemistry, the feisty and witty banter, the way they understood each other, the love.

Body guard and marriage of conviece.. sign me right up! I listened to this in one day and truly enjoyed it! I do think that I would have benefited from reading the other books to have a better connection with the other character, but I do not think that it took away from this story at all! This book sucked me in right from the beginning with his brother setting him up to be auctioned off for a date. I laughed so hard at this! Though they knew each other in the past, their chemistry was sizzling and I could. not wait to see how their story unfolded. I loved this so much. Even though I didn't really know a lot of the side characters from the previous reads, it made me want to go back and read their stories!

As always, C.J. Bloom and Teddy Hamilton did amazing narrating these characters. They made them come alive and truly felt like I was right there with them. These are two of my favorite narrators and they can do no wrong in my eyes!

Flame
Carmichael Family #5
By Adriana Locke
Narrated by Teddy Hamilton, CJ Bloom

Oh, those Carmichael men. I can't decide who I love the most. Each book gives me a new favorite and Foxx is no exception. Grumpy, over protective, romantic, you name it this man has it. But when he left the security team for Bianca, he had no intention of ever seeing her again. That is until Banks sets him up to be in a charity bachelor auction. Surprised to have to be on the block, when Bianca comes in and buys him for a date. Leaving her team was unexpected, and she had some feelings she wanted to sort through with him. Surprised is the saying it mildly when Foxx sees her, but his relationship with her brother Jason keeps him in line. Now things are coming to a head, and when she is in need of help, a marriage of convenience between the two may just lead to where they should have been in the first place. But things never are that easy, right? Foxx is quite the man. I love his grumpiness, after all he is a Carmichael, each with their own personality and this one just fits him. But there is a warmth in him like his brothers, and bringing her to his house and the chickens in the yard had me won over in an instant. Bianca is a workaholic. Always helping others, she tends to neglect herself and now Foxx is showing her just how important she is. I loved their story, the way it started, the fun that Banks brings in, the connection with Foxx's parents and even the danger that was lurking! It's a great listen, and I had a blast as it came alive in my ears.

Teddy Hamilton and CJ Bloom are an incredible team and pairing them for this book is pure genius. Hamilton plays the over protective male to a "T" and I love his inflections with each passing emotion. Bloom is amazing as she creates Bianca. Smart, intuitive, yet blind at times, and full of love, Bianca is finding her way and Bloom helps her with creative voicing. This team makes the listen and I enjoyed every minute.

I have become a huge fan of Adriana Locke, however this is my first book in the Carmichael Family series and I am not disappointed. I could not think of a better name for this book, Foxx and Bianca's story is just that. Foxx has been in love with Bianca since the day he was assigned her security detail. Her brother is his best friend who also just so happened to save his life on a military mission so Foxx feels guilty for being in love with Bianca. However, in the end it all works out with some family drama thrown in.

I loved the banter and humor between all the characters and watching Foxx interact with his brothers may have been the most comical. The Carmichael family is just so much fun. I am going to have to go back and read the rest of the series and I cannot wait for that.

Received ARC in exchange for voluntary review from Adriana Locke and ValentinePR.

Five alarm swoon! Fox is one sexy, super protective grump and I couldn’t love him more. The anticipation of getting Foxx’s story had my expectations high and Adriana delivered a fantastic and amazing book!

The connection between Bianca and Fox is intense yet filled with flirty banter and sexy fun. I enjoyed the Carmichael family hi jinx and pranks and how Bianca easily fit into the mix.

I’m now super excited for more stories about Bianca’s brothers which should be amazing to read and hope u will have more scenes with Bianca and Foxx.

I received a free ARC from the author and Valentine PR; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
