As a bridge in a trilogy this was pretty darn good. There was a lot to like about this second book in the series. I find the characters more relatable and likable in the books than in the TV series (perhaps no surprise as there is typical so much more depth to characters in books). Looking forward to The Night Eternal...

I'm not sure if it's just me, but middle books of a trilogy always seem to be the weakest of the novels. But in this case I don't think The Fall by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan falls into that trap. This middle novel in "The Strain" trilogy does move the novel forward. Several major characters die and the story takes a surprising turn. I'm looking forward to seeing how Mr. del Toro and Mr. Hogan write themselves out of the ending. I'm not sure humanity will win this fight in the end.
