ngl i kind of wish this was longer but otherwise it was really digestable - grief was handled and portrayed pretty accurately (from what i can tell from my experience with the human condition)

The writing was nothing special, but I enjoyed the sailing references and needed mindless romance. So I’d recommend it when the mood is right!

I really enjoyed this one. I thought it was a beautiful and well written story. I think it's important to warn that this cover lead me to believe that this was a summery light romance story. This is not the case. This story is devastating and involves grief. I would look up triggers if you think you may need them but I highly recommend this story if you're in the right headspace for it.

This book had a sweet concept but I think it could have been done much better to make it more interesting. It took me a month to read this book and that never happens.

What a lovely read! In the acknowledgements, Trish Dollar says she planned to write the book that she would want to read herself. And me too, I guess! This redemptive love story, set upon the backdrop of the Caribbean, kept me from putting it down every time I picked it up.

Anna and her fiance have been planning to sail from Fort Lauderdale to Trinidad, but he commits suicide a year before the departure. In a funk, she decides to set off on her own, hoping to ease her grief. Along the way, she meets and recruits Keane, an experienced sailor who is battling his own loss, to assist her in the crossing. The author definitely did her research regarding the various islands described in the novel, as well as the logistics of sailing. It was a great to picture all of the adventures they experience as they learn to believe in themselves and each other.

Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for the advance copy for review.

A delightful romance novel set on a sailboat in the Caribbean. Anne’s fiancé committed suicide a year ago, and she has been grieving ever since. On the spur of the moment, she decides to take the sailboat trip that they had planned together - 6 months sailing around the Caribbean, stopping at various islands with the final destination of Puerto Rico. This trip is just what Anna needs to pull herself together and focus on something outside of herself. She is not an experienced sailor though, and after the first day she decides that she needs some assistance. She hires Keane, an Irish sailor who is between sailing gigs. They get to know each other quickly since they are together on a sailboat 24/7. Friendship turns to love, although they experience a couple of hiccups along the way. Suspend your disbelief and it will be smooth sailing. All ends well, as you know it should which makes this book so compelling.
