This series was honestly one of the best fantasy series that I have read recently. It has none of the elements that so many of them do these days, elements that I do not enjoy at all. There is no love triangle, once Hector and Elisa get together, they are together with no huge blowup that lasts for a whole book, and Elisa has such great characterization throughout the books. She comes into her own by the end of this book, and she is proud and confident in herself. She doesn't need Hector's love to validate her own self-worth. Of course she values it, but they both know that he is not the one that makes her powerful. And other characters like Mara, who decides she will not get married, and that is perfectly fine. Not many YA series these days portray romance in such a healthy way. Love comes from respect and true knowledge of the other person, not just physical appearances. Plus, the story is very interesting, and captivates you the whole time you are reading it. Oh, and this is one of the few trilogies where all 3 books are equally good; the quality does not decline as the series goes on.

I could go on and on, but the basic idea is that I would recommend this book 100%!!

If you haven't heard by now, I really love this series. Check out my review for the conclusion of a great trilogy over at Forever Young Adult.

Wow, that was one fun read! This is my favourite book in the entire trilogy, as it was filled with the drama, romance, magic, and excitement I'd come to expect from the series. The story took readers deeper into the world and to new settings.

I loved the direction many of the characters took. Storm became one of my favourite characters and I wanted to know more about him. I would have also loved to see more of Mara and Belen's relationship. I adored Hector, but of course, Elisa was the standout. She's almost completely different from the girl she was two books ago, and turned out to be quite a warrior.

If you're looking for more scenes between Elisa and Hector, you'll find plenty to be excited about. Their relationship grows and matures into something sweet and endearing, and was one of the key elements in the book.

The ending was dramatic, yet it seemed to wrap up a little quickly. Or maybe that was me, just wanting to see how it all came together. The book had a lot of action near the start and I had a great time seeing how these beloved characters survived it. I'm so glad I finally got to experience this book with a unique, easy to relate to hero, and am going to miss her and her loyal guard!

What a conclusion! I really loved this series and the growth of Elisa over the three books. The world was rich and imaginative and the characters just stole my heart! Excited to read more of Red's story next!

I am literally just waiting for this book to come out. I need to know what happens with Hector and if him and Elisa will unite!

I do feel like the action was a little rushed, but overall I loved it.
