I really enjoyed the art for “Olivia Lies, Pierced” and even “Invincible Heart” had a lovely, raw quality you don’t get to see in mainstream comics. “Olivia Lies, Pierced” was adorable (but confusing) and “Invincible Heart” was swoony (but too fast-paced for the story it could tell). Once again, I skipped the prose, but maybe I’ll revisit it someday.
I like the opportunity for amateur (maybe upcoming!) artists, and this was a better issue than I expected, but ultimately just okay. The stories don’t really hit me as twisted or even remotely interesting other than as a romance. Maybe I’m spoiled, because we are getting queer relationships!
