This series is growing on me - I don't know why I don't seem to click with the characters as much as some other urban fantasy series. But I devoured this one and I want #4 like, yesterday. So thats a good sign haha. It reminds me to the Mercy Thompson series in regards to how much the main character DOESN'T sleep, it seems like they are always going for like 20+ hour marathons of action and then have to crash because they are exhausted, only to be woken up a few hours later (might be a strange observation haha)

Ah. There's some very light but promising sexual tension in this one. :)

this was such a fun book!!! i enjoyed seeing julie again, and the development between curran and kate. i think the plot itself was great (loved reading about hindu mythology) and the worldbuilding. i like how each book so far has provided more and more info regarding kate's mysterious upbringing and background. can't wait for the inevitable showdown w/ roland.

Kate Daniels #3
Adult Urban fantasy
Reread is still great!
I am officially sucked into this series! The world is so interesting and unique. The characters have good depth. The interactions are wonderful. Just the right amount of humor thrown in. The first couple chapters were a bit slow to get through, mostly because it was some recap on who and what, but once it got going I did not want to put this book down until I finished. After finishing I want to jump the next book into my reading schedule right away!!

I think this one was my favorite entry in the series so far. It was more "vibey" IMO, allowing us to live in the world of the Order and the Pack during down time, when they're not just in constant action, which was a nice change of pace. There wasn't as much detail to keep track of in the plot but still had a very satisfying central challenge for the gang to solve. The main progression in this book was in the romantic relationships: mainly Curran and Kate, whose love-hate relationship has evolved to an awesome place, but there's also some great stuff in the love triangle between Derek, Raphael and Andrea. As usual the authors introduced some really out there new fantasy creatures I had never heard of, as well as new magic mechanics which were fresh and dynamic. I didn't feel bored or lost at any point in the book, which is an improvement for me with this series as past books have sometimes dragged a bit in over sharing of unnecessary details, which left me confused. None of that here, just a solid romp start to finish.
