Before I spotted Winifred Holtby's Take Back Your Freedom in my University library, I had no idea that she had ever penned a play. In her rather short play, she presents a fascinating look into politics, and social history. She writes, and creates distinct character voices, so well, alongside dealing with incredibly pertinent issues which are still valid in our society today. So intelligent and well-wrought, Take Back Your Freedom is well worth seeking out.
