I was prepared for a haunted house story, instead, I got a story that featured a haunted house, described in the most boring way possible. The book has a chapter before the couple moves and and then jumps straight to a year later and the protagonists TELLS - not SHOWS - us everything about the house. "Oh yeah, and the walls bleed. Really annoying but what am I supposed to do?".
Seriously, that protagonist has as much personality brain as a doormat. On top of that, there's the daughter, who is supposed to be almost 30 and has some top-notch manager job, but has anger issues and can't say one sentence without excessive cursing. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind character (or even IRL people) cursing, but every sentence?
