10/10 (review contains spoilers)

This trilogy is one of my comfort series❤. I absolutely loved everything about this volume and it's my favorite among all three. I feel like it had everything you could want and there were also emotional moments, especially towards the end when I thought Jacob or Lara would die and I could never have gotten over the death of either of them because I care a lot about these characters.

I enjoyed the action and suspense in the book; everything felt balanced, and I will definitely read more books by this author because I love her writing style. Right now, I feel a bit empty knowing that I've finished the series, and that's it, because I don't feel ready to let go of these wonderful characters I've become attached to.

Characters:

• Cassidy Blake: I adored her from the first page of the first volume. I really like her character and her loyalty, considering the fact that she would have sacrificed herself to save her friends. After everything she went through, I truly believe she deserved her happy ending with Jacob and Lara. Maybe she's a bit too curious and sometimes stubborn and I know there are people who can't stand her, but for me, it's impossible to hate her;

• Jacob Ellis Hale: He is my favorite character in the entire trilogy. I really like his loyalty to Cassidy, knowing he was on the verge of sacrificing himself to save her, and he did it without hesitation. I wish I could have him as a friend because he seems funny, very sweet, always uplifting your mood and never leaves you in difficult times (Cassidy is very lucky to have him as a friend). In the second half of the book, I went through all the emotions, thinking that Jacob would disappear because there were so many moments when he was on the brink of disappearing from the world of the living (he's a ghost and his place is not here). But in the end, he also found his happy ending, which made me relieved because I would have been devastated if something bad had happened to him;

• Lara Chowdhurry: Honestly, I really like Lara's character. I think she has something unique compared to other characters. She is also very loyal to Cassidy and I liked the relationship between her and Jacob, knowing that in the other two volumes, they were kind of enemies, but their relationship evolved over time. There was a moment in the book when I genuinely thought Lara was going to die and I hoped that wouldn't happen because she also deserves a happy ending. I feel sorry for what happened to her when she was in the hospital and for the fact that her parents didn't really care about her, which made me angry because I know Lara suffered because of it;

• Amethyst: Love him

This series has absolutely helped me get back into reading again. Every time I was stuck in a reading dip of not being able to really read a book or pick one up, one of the books of this series has helped me get back into reading again. It's such an incredibly easy, yet exciting and gripping read. I love Cassidy and her parents and how every book is situated in a different city, all of them which I absolutely love and want to visit badly. It's only made me want to visit these cities even more and get to know more about the history (and their ghosts).
