I can't do morally despicable characters. There was a lot of morally grey stuff in the first 2 books in the series which I was okay with but this one started off bad with no real reason and I didn't like it at all.

he takes this guy home from a club and first he fucks his mouth really roughly, then interrogates and scares the shit out of him, and then he kills him bc he's under the impression the guy won't turn? Or something? But he didn't actually do anything to warrant killing? In fact I would 100% say his behavior is something previous characters in this series would find reprehensible enough to kill HIM. So uhh yeah whiplash

Bill, the new member of Christopher Manos’s team first met in Snow Falling, has settled into life working for the crime boss. Mace, one of Black’s assassins, is doing his usual routine of killing and one-night stands (although not sure if a fifteen-minute encounter in the men’s room counts as a one-night stand). The only thing Bill and Mace have in common is how much they hate each other.

Forced to work together with different motivations, rough and rocky do not even begin to describe their working relationship. Danger and stress can do strange things to people, even those used to it. But falling in love is too strange, isn’t it?

Enemies to lovers yassss!
I'd prefer if it was more of a slow-burn but I still enjoyed it immensely!

When they are forced to work together to find the threat against Snows life things don’t go to well. They both hate each other after they last worked together but can these two dangerous men put aside their hate for each other to save Snow , after all we all know there’s a fine line between love and hate .

3.5 I'm all for the mob being shown as having something good in them but this series goes a little too light on that issue. I almost thought this one had a better go of it until the ending but the series is enjoyable and I hope the forth has the more darkness I crave.

3.5 stars. Another good book in the Haven Heart series. My only issue with this book is that Mace and Bill are supposed to be BADASS but show none of it. They keep getting fucked up and making dumb mistakes. I really wanted to see them fuck shit up. Instead we see them outmaneuvered and played. I'm more disappointed the more I think about it.

Amazing book, amazing characters, and amazing story.
They both have a mask on that leads them to hate each other at the beginning, but they soon realize that their original opinions weren't right.
I liked how their relationship worked, and how they had their own way of understanding each other.
I loved learning who the real Mace was, his past and how he came into this type of life.
Black is a mysterious guy, can't wait to read more about him ad learn why he recruited/helped these boys, and made them into assassins.
