I read this book not realizing there were others in the series but the writing is so good that you do not notice (too much).
I am pretty sure this was one of the first books I read in the erotica section and glad it was.
I was excited when I heard there was a DVD being produced.

When i heard a book was being made into a porn movie, i was curious. So i looked and i found the source. I won't say it's a bad book, just not for me. It took me till half through chapter 1 to realise, when the babysitter was getting hit on by the mother while the father sat on the deck masterbating. It's not just that however, i was also put off by the author's style. None of this indicaites BtB is a bad book, just not for me.

What i would like to know is how did it get tunred into a porn movie?

Let me start off by saying this was my first outing with Selena Kitt, but my second time with the book. The first time I tried the audio book and only lasted 15mins. Now this might have put me off, but suddenly i started hearing people raving about it so i decided to try again. Audiobooks, after all, are much more than just the written author's world, and any one of those things can put you off, while the book is just the author.

While reading, I really enjoyed this. Now let me say that just about every chapter has an element of sex, be it voy or straight out threesome. The story is deep as the characters, but it's not trying to be so it doesn't really matter.

I was really tempted to give this five stars, but it failed me in two areas: (spoiler ahead so be warned)
1 - Veronica seemed to take to it all very easily, all of a sudden with no real inner conflict or much thought on it.
2- The ending For all the Baumgartners talk of their feelings for Veronica, they replace her without a word and she just takes it with a shrug and a C'est la vie.

Not deal breakers but for me it moved it down to 4-4.5.

Ronnie is the family au pair who becomes the latest conquest of a polyamorous couple...lots of super steamy sex scenes, not for the faint of heart or close-minded!!
Selena Kitt knocks one out of the park with the entire Baumgartner series but this book is definitely my favorite of them all!

Ok, so this book kinda calls for a more detailed review. Up until this point I had only read Selena's Powerplay series which I kinda love. It is a bit more romancey and less erotica bordering adult film industry reading.

Well, I kept seeing this book pop up in my feed randomly. Everyone loves it! Says its like the end all be all of erotica.

It kinda was.

I mean Selena literally overdoses you to the point of sexual pain with how much she gives you. From f/f to f/f/m to m/f then back to f/f again. It details are really vivid and your going, "Oh, crap I didn't know I was into that! Well, I guess I am now!"

For the most part it is like a really dirty New Adult coming of age book. Maybe if all of them were as blunt and raw as this one was, I would like more New Adult fiction. I was a bit unsatisfied with the ending hence the non full five stars. I guess I understand what she was doing with this story--however, I felt used for Ronnie's sake. It was like, "We love you, we love you, oh you are beautiful." Then literally with no phone call Ronnie is replaced and its like static and crickets. I was like WHAT!

Ok, now I'm pretty open. I was pretty wild when I hit 17 through the age of 20. But if this happened to me. And the raw sexuality and emotions that were spewed out in this book to Ronnie had happened to me it would royally mess me up in the head. Yeah, its technically just erotica. Obviously, some are even calling it pretty much porn. However, I can't help but think it was trying to send a message. Maybe I'm over thinking it because I'm so angry and hurt for Ronnie. Yeah, she's 19 but I can't help but feel one of the GROWN ADULTS should have spoken to her and explained more. It was like like "Good humping you, bye! Moving on to the next nanny."

Ok, before turn this into a rant on the last chapter lol I'm gonna stop and just remember the good times Ronnie had with the Baumgartners--and Gretchen.

I can't even believe I am rating this. Please don't judge me, Goodreads friends. It was free on Amazon. It has a definite "can't look away" vibe.

Nasty and dirty. that's the best words I can think to describe this book. I can't lie and say I didn't know the subject matter in advance, but it's definitely the most explicit writing I've ever read. and just kinda...ick. I also won't lie--the scenes themselves were pretty hot (except for one I can think of that kinda grossed me out). but the overarching story was just kinda creepy.
oh, hello, cute babysitter that we've known since you were 15. you look hot and you're legal finally. would you like to have lots of dirty sex with a couple that is significantly older than you and has been authority figures in your life? sure. no problem.....I just hated how "Doc" would look at Ronnie during some of these scenes, and say "are you OK?"--it didn't seem sweet or concerned to me. it reminded me of manipulators I've known before, people who want you to say it's OK so they can still get their rocks off, but don't want to seem like jerks, so they ask if you're OK, with the implication that you must say yes...so maybe it's personal issues, but I just found this creepy. a bit too in the vein of Lolita for my taste. the scenes with Ronnie and Gretchen were the least objectionable to me, since they were between peers, not between adults and teens.
Also, there were young kids around while much of this was happening! Especially some of the scenes on the beach, out in the open. it's awfully handy how agreeable those kids were about going to bed and staying there, not looking where they weren't supposed to, etc. just one misplaced glance, and the family would have deserved to be reported to Child and Protective Services.
If I want something else extremely explicit and steamy to read, I'd probably look up the author's other work and hope it was equally hot, but with lots of consenting adults...not barely legal ones, with young kids asleep in the same house. ick.

I read this for a reading challenge. This is not my usual genre of choice and I probably won't be reading much more of it. I gave it 2 stars because it was good at what it was, but its just not for me.
