Just not for me on multiple levels. Did a buddy read with a friend and didn't want to quit.
The internal dialogues were tough to get through. And the constant back and forth of 'I'll do this' followed by 'why am I doing this?' was one step forward and three steps back. It felt like the author didn't know want the characters together and kept putting up forces roadblocks to draw it out. It is okay for characters to get together early on. There is no rule about how long it should take. If you characters are vibing, it's okay to let them be together earlier than you intended in the initial outline.
The dad kink was overdone to the point where it became creepy. I don't object to the age gap, or even that she dated his son, it was the way he kept referring to her as his son's girl. They broke up. She is no longer his girl.
