I’m not totally endeared towards Reese. Yes she grew up a little repressed in a conservative, Christian household. And yes, she had some hardships in her life, losing both parents in some fashion. But her constant insistence that she’s an adult and could make her own decisions grated on me the more a read. Yes, she is 18 and I can totally understand the frustration in being an adult but not really an adult. But I’d classify someone as an adult based on their behavior, and a lot of Reese’s actions really leaned more towards childish and I couldn’t find myself sympathizing with her. I literally cannot figure out how I feel about Fisher. He is such a tease with Reese but at the same time raised a bunch of valid points about her still growing up. I just kept going back and forth on liking his character - I think I would have benefitted from getting a few chapters in his POV to understand what the heck was going on in his head.

This book is not for everyone. And I feel like the negative reviews write themselves… I actually almost DNF’d this book in the first 20 or so pages.
As an ex-Christian, Reese’s character was a bit too much for me at times. She got better as the story progressed, but in the very beginning it was painful to get through.
I did enjoy the rest of the book, especially Fisher (even if his full name is laughable). I wished that we got a bit more of the side characters, like Arnie who was mentioned like twice and then never again.

Entertaining? Yes. But there were many parts that were repetitive to the point where it was annoying

in all honesty i felt like the MMC sucked and the FMC didn’t have no back bone whatsoever.
