This was an unexpected twist. I like the horror movie aspect of it and instead of it being the victim, it's about the monster. The monster and recuperating her humanity.

"News articles talk about what a surprise it is, that such a nice young man could do such a thing. Surely it was an accident. They mourn his lost potential, his lost track scholarships, how tragic it is that one night ruined his entire life. They write articles and have meetings warning teenage girls about the dangers of drinking and partying. Nobody writes articles telling teenage boys not to stalk and kill girls who don't like their stupid adolescent poetry."

Not what I was expecting, but also not what I wanted either.

Shallow Graves started out interesting. The first 10% or so had me completely immersed and engaged with the story. Eventually I was having no connection with Breezy (Our MC) or anyone else who was being introduced. There is a lot of information that was being skimmed over, and to many things happening for the reader to be still left in the dark at 32%. I was really looking forward to this one too, it sounded awesome.

I really enjoyed Shallow Graves! While the beginning isn't very fast-paced, it think it did an excellent job of setting up the faster parts of the story near the end. And I LOVED the bi representation in this book. The overall premise is what drew me in, and while Shallow Graves had some really unexpected turns, I enjoyed it.

I couldn't put it down. Who are the real monsters?
