The book has advice and steps on cleaning spaces a home, completing chores, and laundry. This book also speaks about etiquette and social interaction tips. This book reads like a self-help column in magazines, so the reading is easy to understand, and there are brief quizzes to assist with reinforcing certain tips. This book is highly useful for a tween or teenage reader in comprehending what should they should know about growing up to be functional adults.

A fantastic volume of really useful hints and tips for kids to cover things they should know as they grow up. Covering topics as diverse as how to write a thank you note to how to use a screwdriver, the tone stays light and the cartoons are well done. This is a great volume and I'll be buying copies for the young people in my life.

(However, half a point off because the 'clean the bathroom' section explains sinks and counters, then starts the toilet part with 'squirt some cleaner in and do the rest of the cleaning while it soaks.' Why not put toilets first, then? 4.5 stars, rounding down.)

How To Be A Person is a guide for kids that shows them how to do lots of everyday things, such as housework, cooking, wrapping a present, building a fire, using tools, etc. It even tells kids how to help others and how to be kind.

This would be a wonderful gift for any kid, and for some adults too (Myself included. I still can't wrap a present.) The instructions are presented in an easy to understand, but also sometimes humorous way that is fun to read.

I received a free digital copy of this book from Netgalley and the Publishers. My review is voluntary.

This will be a helpful resource once my kids get a bit older. I enjoyed flipping through the pages myself.

We got the Jewish version of this book from PJ Library. So good. So helpful. What a fun little book to pull out now and again with the kids, and to keep handy as a reference.

How to be a person offers young people tips for different life situations such as interactions with family members or other people, using words in different situations in writing, making themselves useful around the house by doing *gasps* chores, how to cook basic meals, how to wisely earn, save, invest and spend money, and random, but useful to have skills. Although the book is targeted to children and it's a good starting point for the child that wants to be more grown-up, it's also like a refresher for older tweens and teens as well. I personally, as an adult, learned some tricks from this book, but I'm not telling which, hehe! The writing is friendly and not at all parent-y or sounding patronizing. The illustrations are lovely and they make the reading even more enjoyable. For an adult, this book would look cool and cheery as a coffee table book.

An engaging and informative read for tweens. There’s a lot of great tips in here — some that even adults can use a refresher on!
