My class loved this book, though the Adam Gratz story lines are usually predictable. I will say, I didn’t see the connection between Brandon and Reshmina coming, though some of my students did. A great read aloud for fifth grade. 3.5 stars!

Alan Gratz is a master at writing historical fiction and making it accessible for all readers. The perspectives in the book brought me to tears. It was a gut wrenching read to see Brandon trying survive the collapsing towers. It was heartbreaking to see how war and hate can spiral continuously. Timely and honest.
