I like how Silvio's personality changes at any given moment so that it's plausible-ish he'll have sex with the nearest sexual organ.

Talking about twisted things...

So, til now
* Silvio is absolutely unrepentant and he doesn't give a fuck;
* Stefano is a mafioso but his " mafiouness" appears very blurred.

The first, I like it. The second, no.

I think that Stefano as mafioso is little credible: we know how he looks, what he think and feels, but we don't know anything about him as a capo and his "business", any allusion to drugs, gambling, pimping, "protection", etc. because that's the "work" of a capo mafia, isn't? The result is decaffeinated mafioso Maybe this will change in next volume.

somehow, i'm both surprised and unsurprised by the direction this story took.

i'll admit that the cross-dressing bits were interesting and showed yet another side to silvio's character; i admire how comfortable and fluid he is in his sexuality and his ability to express himself.

that being said, i'm also a little disturbed by how sexually indiscriminate he's been over the course of the past few stories, particularly this one. to be completely fair, the blurb of volume one does make it clear that silvio is hypersexual—i guess i just wasn't prepared for the sheer extent of his licentious behavior.

to give you a better idea what i'm talking about, here's a quick little trivia game. you can even play at home!

(honorable mention: him getting cockblocked by stefano when he called silvio to come rescue him in vol. 2)

alright folks, have your answer?

the correct answer is... drumroll, please...

*future voice* HE BELONGS TO THE STREETS

Dark Lady I - I wouldn't have done it that way, but I admire Silvio. I can't understand him enough, though. And I want to understand him - his motives, his thinking, the whys, everything.

Dark Lady II - Hot.

Dark Brother - Hotter. I like Franco. I understand Silvio better.

Not a big news, but I want more.

After reading Volume 1 and attempting to provide a rating/review for that volume, I have come to the conclusion that the story is best considered in its entirety.
When the 5 volumes are read back-to-back, it is an immersing journey into the dark world inhabited by Stefano and Silvio. There is incredible emotional depth to the characters and the story is intriguing. Very compelling reading.

Yeez... I need a fan right away!
Major plot twist, that's all I'm going to say.

I'm starting to like very much this author.

3 stars for Dark Lady I & II, 1 star for Dark Brother. I decided to stay in between and give it 2 stars.

Okay. Dark Lady? Liked it. A lot. Silvio impressed me. Not gonna lie, I was fascinated. I even began to like Stefano. Wish he wasn't married so I could REALLY want to see him with Silvio.

Dark Brother? Well, that's a big fucking no for me. I have zero tolerance for some things and this series keeps showing them to my face.
Spoiler Cheating, rape (by a damn GUN, I mean I don't think I will ever get over it) and now incest? WHAT? I know Silvio is dark, twisted, blah blah blah but how about Franco? I agree, he isn't a saint himself. He is messed up too. But I don't think he is as dark as Silvio. He has to know this is NOT okay. What should I do, show him a sign that says "WRONG"?? Scream "YOU ARE FUCKING YOUR BROTHER" to his ear? God, for a moment I expected a threesome even. I would probably jump out of the window then.

Dark Brother disturbed me. And the most disturbing part about it, that I could not NOT read. I don't know if it's the twisted story itself or Voinov's writing, I kept reading. Me. I read an incest story. The apocalypse is near.
