Difficult but helpful to read as a newish trans girl. Had to stop pretty frequently because it felt very intense, but ultimately the myriad of trans existence felt refracted into me in a positive way. I'm happy to have read it, and will recommend it to other people in my life.

Traumatic for me to read, but good, very good. I’d like to revisit it when I’ve got more distance… but, especially, ‘twenty hot tips for shopping success’ really hit close to home.

I love Casey Plett’s writing. It’s wry, funny, unflinching. It loses .25 of a star because I really struggle to read books with no quotation marks. It’s a stylistic choices that rarely seems to serve a purpose. But otherwise, amazing!

I think listening to the audiobook was the right choice for this book for me. The latter half was the strongest but overall, I enjoyed this read.
