I received this book through Goodreads first reads. So glad I did. This book was impossible to put down. It keeps you guessing right to the end. I've never read a Sandra Brown book I didn't enjoy, but this is probably one of my favorites.

Loved this book! Alex... Oof. I read the first, second, and third chapters, and thought that Alex was the person who
Spoilerfound out his wife was cheating on him, and killed her
. >.> For some background, I opened up the book to a random page when I bought it, to attempt to decide whether I should find a different book, or get that one, and just kept reading from there. xD About 3/4 of the way through, I started from the beginning again. By that point, I knew that
Spoilerhis wife had died, and he had killed someone
. ;.; He was my favorite character... :) His and Cat's meeting was great! xD

Not sure why I feel this way but stories with bad language and sex scenes written by a women always throw me off and I don't like them. I shouldn't be surprised I know this authors stories can be that way bur it bugs me for some reason.

I like the premise of the story. It was intriguing and it seemed like a good story. I guess it is more my prejudice / preference that made me not want to finish. I did finish the story, but finishing it wasn't as satisfying as it normally is when I finish a story. If you are not into bad language or sexual scenes probably shouldn't read this.

This was a re-read, I wasn't feeling it this time, I skimmed a lot, not out of remembering but it seemed to have too much unnecessary details.
It's not the best Sandra Brown work but it was still worth a read.
Although it was slow in the middle, she managed to weave an interesting story and the ending was intriguing and suprising alghough I had a hint of who the villain was.
