The first half was almost unbearable, but parts of the second half resonated with me. She’s not a great writer, but she’s obviously trying hard to be honest with herself and her readers, and I appreciate that in a memoirist.

Goosebumps when I finished this book. Love Warrior is simply the best memoir I have ever read. Glennon truly captured her emotions in writing and literally bared her soul for everyone to read about. I would recommend this beautiful and captivating memoir to those struggling in their marriage or on their journey to self-discovery. A definite five-star read.

This is Glennon Doyle Melton's second book, her first was Carry On Warrior. In this book, the author focuses on marriage, especially after she finds out that her husband has a porn addiction and has been cheating. The story was interesting, and easy to listen to (I have the book, but listened to the audiobook). Doyle Melton tells how she came to a place of forgiveness, love and reunification with her husband, however the fact that she left her husband for a woman shortly after this book came out, made the story far less powerful. If she did all of the work, and soul searching, and found all the answers, why did she end up throwing it all away again so soon. I know that the author now has a third book out, Untamed, which I have on hold at the library, so we will see how her story develops, and if my questions are answered.

Need to think about the roles that I play and who I need to unbecome. I have thought in the past why it is that the world says that we should be happy all of the time. Why do we always feel it necessary to smile for photographs. What would others see if we didn’t? What would they determine about us? Why do we care? I really liked her explanation to her girls about sexy, pretty and beautiful. I want to remember those definitions in case I ever need them.
