Came for the intriguing vibes, stayed for a wild west gang of sapphics raging against the state. This was a super quick read, and while I wished there could have been more exploration of the worldbuilding (because this world seems fascinating as hell!), I wasn't disappointed in anything that was there. The vibes were impeccable, the message was so powerful, and my only real complaint is that I wish this book were twice as long.

 This was a rollercoaster of emotion, and I loved every second of it. Even the dedication and acknowledgements wrapped my heart in feelings.

This was a fun, quick audiobook with lots of adventure and dystopian themes. At times the dystopian elements hit a bit too close to home given current events, but that made the hopeful thread running through this story all the more welcome.

There’s some great commentary here. I am surprised I enjoyed it as much as I did, although I struggled with the beginning. I feel like I will have to read it again to appreciate it fully.
