Some of these stories were just OK, but many were very good, and the narrators were terrific. I was happy to learn about some authors that I was not familiar with before. I am definitely planning to seek out more Saki and E.W. Hornung. And Kate Chopin--wow! I'm embarrassed to say the only work of hers I had read before was The Awakening, as assigned reading in school. There are two of her stories in this collection and they were excellent. Unfortunately, the Louisa May Alcott story is one of the weakest of the lot, in my opinion, despite being narrated by the amazing Derek Jacobi. Too much melodrama. But all in all, I really enjoyed this.
