This is the trick-or-treating piece of the 'Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown'. It is a small focus. This is a beginning reader for kids. I had the niece read this whole thing to me and to the nephew. She has seen the show and we have read the full story. She did beautifully and she did her best to work up the drama in her voice as she was reading it to make it interesting. She felt so proud to read it to us and we all know it’s a beloved story of the family. She gave it 4 stars, I think because she was invested in it.
I do recommend the original story more than this. Read the full thing, but this is a good little reader a child can read themselves. Both kids keep asking, why did they give Charlie Brown a rock over and over. The only answer I had was for comedic effect. I don’t know.
