Originally read for university. An excellent overview, particularly regarding the situation between Macedon and Persia which ultimately culminated in the defeat of Darius III by Alexander III in 331 BCE (save the date!). I appreciated the emphasis on blaming foreign military powers for the downfall of Persia and not its internal politics or "moral degeneracy"—even contemporary ancient Greek literature predominantly did not blame the Persians for the events.
