An ambivalent attitude towards violence against women mars this atmospheric novel. We like it when Christie WTFs us with plot twists but not when she WTFs us with misogyny. Did we really need all those characters? I would cut Emmott, and some others. I just remembered! There's a bit where Poirot suggests that one of the women in the story might be a "female impersonator"! That's a phrase I had forgotten all about.

It's fascinating to me that a book written in 1930s is still so interesting to read.
Definitely want to read more Agatha's books.

Libro della Christie estremamente carino, la voce narrante della giovane infermiera Amy è molto divertente e conincolgente.
La trama, ambientata in medio oriente, e a tratti un po' paranormale mi è piaciuta molto. Come sempre Poirot eccellente.

A great read. Took a few chapters to get into it and for it to pick up but it's a very interesting plot which twists and turns with every chapter.
