I really liked this book. It started out a bit strained with Bluestar’s depression and Cloudpaw’s disregard for the warrior code, but the collective of Erin Hunter did a good job balancing different characters and the conflicts between clans. We really see fireheart come into his role as deputy here and it’s very satisfying to see how far he’s grown.

Yellowfang’s death scene tore me apart.
Greystripe being denied from coming home hurt as well.
And then at the end, with Tigerclaw being revealed as the ShadowClan leader...a great twist that I still remembered from my first time reading the book.
