Prepare for disappointment at the reveal of the twist of the novel within the novel. Still tracks that the novel's novel would become a best-seller and publishing phenomenon, sadly. Read this because I wanted a break and a fun read, it was a kind of wicked fun, and I am invested enough to want to read the sequal

2.5 stars rounded up? I don’t know. Yes this story was captivating and I was very interested in what “the twist” would be. Both in his life and in the book he wrote, crib. But I was totally let down! I figured it out! Which I NEVER do. I’m no genius, I am kept guessing the whole time. I figured it out about 30% in. But I kept going thinking there was no way that was it. They’re trying to trick me. But nope. I knew it. And then I didn’t like the ending! So I’m not mad that I read this. I believe it was well written. But it was obvious and I was disappointed how it ended.
