Ehhh... it’s got a few moments that made me think, “Oh! That’s such and such 80s movie!” But really, it was something I trudged through just to finish. The cast was great and now I want to go listen to some Sioux and the Banshees but other than that it was nit all that great.

Okay, this book will appeal to a certain subset of Gen-Xers who liked John Hughes movies but cringe at them—mostly—now. The cast is great in the audiobook. The story makes no damned sense, but it’s not supposed to. The characters are utterly vapid, but they’re supposed to be.

  • Diverse cast of characters? No
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

It was fine, but not ast hysterical and amazing as most other reviews on other sites led me to believe... Maybe it's not just my style of humour. I caught the references to other 80s movies, music etc. but this was just not my style.

It is well written, and in case of the audio - well narrated and dramatized.

Did finish, but wouldn't recommend necessarily.

Fun play on 80’s teen drama. Awesome cast. Okay story.
