Libro entretenido. Muy intenso, con mucha información de golpe, pero si bien todo lo relacionado a los ruedos de dragones está muy bien descrito y detallado, la relación entre ellos es... rara. Un buen plot twist final y poco más.

Together we Burn is perfect if you are looking for something lighthearted. The world building has many unique concepts and the story is fun and cute, but overall not particularly deep.

The plot is very reminiscent of a classic adventure novel; incredibly easy to follow and filled with plenty of heroism and adventure. The action and romance both progress at a satisfying pace. I really enjoyed the chemistry between the love interests and found that they were lovable despite their irrational tendencies (quintessential act first, think later types).

The spanish influence on the book is an absolute delight. Each description of a Spanish dish gave me a little dopamine rush and I’ve never been more devastated to be living in a country without easy access to Spanish food. I want to applaud Ibanez for her well balanced use of foreign language, there were always enough context clues to figure out what was being said.

For my personal tastes I wish the book had more depth, but I recognise that it would be a very different reading experience if that was the case. The characters aren’t particularly fleshed out, and most feel unimpactful. No one ruminated on any of the traumatic events they experienced, whenever one problem was solved another immediately arose. Honestly, the protagonist consistently made dumb decisions and never faced any repercussions for them… but I loved her anyway. She’s kind of like a dog who never uses all their brain cells at the same time, but you overlook their stupidity because they are cute.

Thank you to NetGalley for the arc. When I saw the premise of this, I was immediately drawn in. The keywords for me were "dragons", "flamenco dancer" and "high fantasy." This book definitely delivered. It was a captivating journey, with a sweet romance and intricate world-building, as well as a very cool arc for the main character. There was lots of tension, both emotional and external, and the overall messages were really strong. For me, this wasn't a five star, because it just took me so long to finish and there was no pull for me to continue reading. It was still a really good story, just a slower-paced one. I really enjoyed the world where it took place, as well as the characters and the plot, but for me what kept me from rating it higher was that I just felt no connection to the story and no desire to keep reading. I'd still recommend though, for any Fantasy fans, because that aspect of it was really intriguing and enjoyable.

I had a tough time reading this book. I loved the concept and the plot idea. But the execution was too basic for my taste and too rushed at the end. The bones were there, but not fully fleshed out. Sadly only 2 stars

I really enjoyed this book. It hits all the right notes for me and contains my favorite things: enemies to lovers and dragons. The world is just rich enough that you can almost believe that this world exists without it being too much for the book itself. The magic system too worked for the storyline and was simple enough that it didn't need a lengthy description for you to understand what was happening. The dragons too were unique enough to this story that it worked really well.

Zarela is such a strong female lead in this novel without it being overpowering to the storyline. She's determined to do the best for her family while also finding her own way. I absolutely LOVED the banter between Zarela and Arturo. It was very easy and didn't feel forced into the story for narrative purposes. It just worked and I loved the two characters so much and the way these two characters were able to work together for the greater good made for the perfect storyline here.
