Mi-a placut foarte mult limbajul folosit.
Foarte putina actiune, foarte multi campi batuti.

I have previously really enjoyed Leroux's The Phantom of the Opera, so when I got the recommendation to read this book by none other than dear M. Poirot (he praises this book as 'a classic' and 'a masterpiece' in Christie's The Clocks), I couldn't resist.

What a clever locked room puzzle mystery! Except for some passages that were dragging around the middle of the book, it was engaging, fast-paced and the resolution is extremely clever.
I couldn't help but notice some similarities between our amateur sleuth and journalist Joseph Rouletabille and Hercule Poirot, they are both geniuses, but also annoying smart-asses sometimes. A few key clues and elements of the mystery (which I won't spoil for you) obviously inspired Agatha Christie in her own work as well.

Overall, a wonderful reading experience!
